Joaquim Pereira is a violinist, teacher and cultural agent from Braga. A graduate of the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory and the University of Minho, he studied with masters such as Ilya Grubert and Eliot Lawson. He completed a master’s degree at the Codarts University of Arts in Rotterdam, under the guidance of Gordan Nicolic and Goran Gribajcevic, as well as a master’s degree in music education at the University of Minho. He has excelled in national and international performances, including at the Symfonieorkest Koninklijk Conservatorium/Codarts with Valery Gergiev. As a chamber musician, he has studied with such notables as Toby Hoffman and Henk Guittart. He is a violinist in the Guimarães Orchestra and vice-president of the Braga Sinfonietta. He is one of the founders of the Pluris Ensemble, supported by the Directorate-General for the Arts, and is part of the FIO – Informal Opera Festival. As well as being a musician, he teaches at the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music and recently obtained an MBA at the Porto Executive Academy.
