Miguel Oliveira

Born in Braga, he attended the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Braga, where he graduated in 8th grade with awards for artistic, academic and musical merit. During this period he performed several times as a soloist with orchestra, with the academic orchestra and the Orquestra do Norte. He has a degree in Music from the University of Minho, which he attended with professors Ilya Grubert and Eliot Lawson. During his academic career he was awarded prizes in several national competitions. Currently, in addition to his teaching activities, he is a violinist in the Guimarães Orchestra and a member of the executive board of the Braga Sinfonietta, while simultaneously studying for a Master’s Degree in Performance at the Conservatoire Royal de Mons and a Master’s Degree in Music Teaching at the University of Minho, in the classes of Professor Eliot Lawson.
