The Braga Sinfonietta’s ‘Falando de Música’ (Speaking of Music) project is a cycle of commented concerts that aims to democratise access to classical music, providing enriching musical experiences for diverse audiences. With an inclusive approach, this cycle seeks to correct territorial asymmetries in the cultural offer and create an outstanding programme with national reach, establishing partnerships with cultural agents and renowned concert halls.
The concerts are designed to be accessible and engaging, offering commentaries that contextualise the works and interactions with the audience, making the musical experience closer and more meaningful. Throughout its eight editions, ‘Falando de Música’ has featured renowned soloists such as Ana Vieira Leite, Sérgio Pires, Samuel Bastos, Rita Morais, Eduarda Melo, Leonel Pinheiro, Gonçalo Sousa, Pedro Meireles, Paulo Jorge Ferreira, João Martinho, Ana Aroso, Catarina Gonçalves, Domingos Ribeiro, Carlos Leite, Matilde Loureiro and Jun Bouterey-Ishido. In addition, conductors such as Jean-Marc Burfin, Henrique Constância, Martim Sousa Tavares, Brian MacKay, Constança Simas and Jan Wierzba have contributed to the cycle’s success.
The ‘Falando de Música’ concerts have been held in various prestigious concert halls, such as the Theatro Circo, the Bragança Municipal Theatre, the Vila Real Theatre, among others, as well as in the most remote parishes in the interior of the Braga municipality.
In addition, ‘Falando de Música no Museu’ (Speaking of Music at the Museum), in partnership with the Municipality of Monção and the Monção Casa-Museu (UM), offers intimate concerts with small ensembles, broadening the scope of the project and adapting to different audiences and contexts.
